Following is a lead in to a Redistribution Report for the next newsletter.
Redistribution changes are implemented during the following Queensland elections. Since the 1992 election SEQ (South East QLD) seats have increased from 54 to 62 (+8) while CANQ (Central & North QLD) seats fell from 21 to 19 (-2).
More than 640,000 voters have been added to the QLD electoral roll since the last redistribution. With the outcomes of the next redistribution being implemented at the 2028 Election we will see SEQ increasing from 62 to 64 seats while CANQ will fall from 19 to 17 seats. It is likely that the electorate of Thuringowa will be abolished while the boundary of Callide will be redrawn such that it will lie entirely within the Electoral Division of Southern Queensland. Without the creation of New States our Regions shall wither.

The Large Area Electorates (LAE's) which are included in their respective Regional areas went from 5 to 4. Cook (Far North) Traeger replaced Mount Isa and Charters Towers as a single LAE over a series of redistributions, Gregory (Central) & Warrego (South)

Preferential Voting in Australia: The definitive guide with MARBLES!
Only few constituents of any electorate actively assist candidates in their efforts to contest their local electorate.
Candidates of the well established parties have local branches and significant funding to assist them.
The smaller "freedom parties", micro parties and independents all need assistance at pre-polling, election day polling stations and scrutinizing after the polls close.
While not an issue of this Federal Election, there are some minor parties and independents that are on record for their strong unequivocal support for the creation of New States.
If you are not a political party member please consider assisting a local candidate that is aligned with your values and supports the proposition of creating New States.

The question of assessing options for upgrading the range crossing between Cairns and Mareeba has become a matter of urgent community discussion with a number of alternative routes canvassed. To help consideration of the matter, the following offers some preliminary comment on the various routes being canvassed from a cost benefit analysis perspective.
Long-term analysis of traffic counts indicates that the failure to improve the Kuranda Range Road is strongly affecting traffic growth on the route despite the growth of population and industry in the region.
