Looking forward to seeing you there!
Regardless of an individual’s position on the Queensland coal industry, there is no doubt it has been, is and will continue be for some time to come, a major contributor to the State and national economies. The Queensland Treasury Annual Report FY2022/23, detailed revenues in excess of $17B were attributed to Coal royalties. Additionally, in Queensland the industry directly employs more than 40,000 and 10,000s more indirectly while ensuring the viability of many unrelated small businesses and sustaining numerous regional communities.
Below is a table detailing the value of Queensland Exports for the year ending July 2023 and July 2024. Looking at the values of mining and agriculture exports and their foreign currency earning it beggars belief that both the State and Federal governments continue to implement legislation that adversely impacts on our Regional industries and communities!
